Firstly, thank you for your comment. I agree whole heartedly when you say it takes guts to throw away an old system. It also means more money and resources having to be allocated to creating or attaining a new one. That being said, the only thing you can do is either demonstrate the inefficiencies of the old and advocate the improvements of the new to the good old management. Or take the lead in spare time to slowly get development going within your team to later demonstrate. I’m not so naive to assume companies have the budget for all of this and/or it’s easy to get a champion for the project. It is however something we can all agree on, when we say it will improve the overall productivity in the organisation. How it gets implemented varies greatly with the scope of the system and the organisation I think. Sorry I couldn’t be more of a help on this topic!
